I'm looking for affordable accomodations in AC. I saw the Village Residences cabanas and it looked like a pretty good deal. Has anyone stayed there? Suggestions?

The Village (aka Mayas Katut) so far as I have been able to tell is no longer a hotel (it never really was,in my opinion, being in a ridiculous location, with little or no management even years ago). I'd suggest e-mailing Marty Casado, who runs this board, where you probably saw the ad for it, and ask him his opinion of it. He's be up on the present situation.

Lan's right...not a good location....prone to flooding.....about 3-400 ft. from the lagoon. I stayed there for a month when I first moved to the island. Watch out for the scorpions....found one on my porch and one in my shower.
Some of the medical students used to stay there...not sure if they still do. It's in close proximaty to the Medical school.

not the greatest location, but its on the island, and you can branch out from there. definently more inexpensive than some. I wouldn't book a whole trip there, book a day or two, see what you think.

Are they still really booking hotel rooms? I have never been able to reach anyone there by phone or e-mail.
