Residents of Belmopan and surrounding areas will observe International Day of Forests on Thursday with a fair in the nation’s capital. The purpose of the celebration is to raise awareness of the important of forests throughout the world. The fair will take place on Thursday in front of the police headquarters in Belmopan, with opening ceremonies scheduled to start at 9 am. The fair will feature educational and information booths and the general public is being invited to come learn about “the importance of our forests and the creatures that live within it, and collect educational materials and information from many wildlife and conservation organizations throughout the country.”
