Met a big group of tourists walking from the bridge after 12pm(when the bridge was closed)that were heading back to Coco Beach because they refused to lift bar so they can cross. It is officially closed but no repairs are being done yet. I assume tomorrow that they will start, hopefully. It makes no sense to have it closed if they are not repairing. We have been using the bridge in the same condition it is, so why not close it the minute they start working on it. They are losing money and businesses on the north side as well. Also, if they do start working on it tomorrow, there is only one side that is usable for pedestrians therefore, the hundreds of workers (maybe thousands), students, tourists and business owners has only a 4ft span area to commute back and forth. This should be interesting experience for the next few weeks. This morning there was an uproar already. Anyone knows when the actual repair will start?
