Hi all. I am getting my documents together for my self employment work visa. I have all I need and will be taking them to San Pedro soon. My question is... What is the cost? The Labour Dept tells me I have to find out from Immigration but I can't find out until I go to hand over the paperwork. I would just like to know before hand. Has anyone gotten the SE work visa lately? Most info on the web is out dated. Any help would be appreciated.
I didn't think a non citizen could work and earn income in the country. That is what everything I read said. I thought the only way around that was to purchase property and start your own business after you had lived in Belize for over a year and approved citizen. Are you saying that if I wanted to move to Belize and start a business all at once I would just apply for a work visa or is self employment visa something that is paid for by anybody that is self employed?
You have to be a permanent resident for 5 years before you can apply for citizenship. You can apply for PR after being continuously in the country for 1 year.
Thanks Noelle! I re read that and see where i got it confused. Does this mean that we wouldn't be able to earn income by working for somebody, but If we purchase a business and home there and move, would we still be able to earn income from our own business?
