Could someone tell me if the Exotic Caye/Playador is the hotel next to Crazy Kanouks Bar? We are thinking of staying there mid February (before the end of lobster season) and was wondering exactly were it is located. Any comments regarding this hotel?

Thanks,

My wife and I just got back from Exotic Caye. We stayed over the holidays and had a great time. Pirate is right, the bar is right on the property. Great bar. Very friendly place. Spent a wild New Year there. Best party by far!!!!

If Pirate is the same one we met, "HI Pirate". We stayed right next door to you in room 2B.

The location of Exotic Cays is just south of the Belize Yacht Club and Resort. It is about 1/4 of a mile +- south of Ramons and just down the street from the super market for any in room "provisions". About a 15 to 20 minute walk will put you right in town to sample all of the restaurants. We ate at a different place for every meal. That is what makes this location nice. It is also across the "street" from the Green Iguana night club. Not to worry, we did not hear a sound.

If you have not been to Belize before, take the advice of other postings. Go with an open mind and you will have a great time. Remember it is a third world country. Exotic Caye was great. Ambergris Caye has the friendlest people out of any place that my wife have every traveled to. Enjoy.

Thanks for your reply. We were in Belize last February for the first time and like so many others, fell head over heels in love with it. We are trying desperately to decide if we are going to make it over there before the end of Lobster season. Last year we arrived about 2 days late. Of course, the conch was delicious. One of my favorite places for breakfast was Woody's across from the Exotic Caye. The fried jacks were to kill for.

Wait a second... If you didn't know where EXOTIC CAYE or The Crazy Canuck's was? How could you have killer fry jacks across the street from it?

Hello gapeach,

You couldnt have picked a better spot for a vacation... The people and the atmosphere are the best. And the food is great!!! Dont forget to try the Conch, Stone Crab and Lobster!! All three are a MUST while you are visiting... Also, I know from experience that Ambergris is a very romantic place and I couldnt think of a better spot to spend some time with the one you love...

Have a wonderful time and hope to see you there!!!
