new here but have been reading a lot trying to learn as much as I can. My husband and I are trying to pull together a last minute anniversary/dive trip to Caye Caulker. Our only options for dates will be sometime between Sept 26 and Oct 12 (the only time grandparents can take care of the kids).
I know there are no guarantees with weather, but it seems that this year has been very quiet.
My biggest concern is will diving this time of year be feasible? How often are dive trips cancelled due to weather? If the water is rough, do they simply go to another location or do they cancel completely?
Last time we were able to get away without the kids was 2005 and we went to Cozumel the end of November only to be in the path of a late tropical storm. Seems our luck has not been on our side!
Any info or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry..having a senior moment and can't remember their name but they are located right across the road from Island Magic Hotel. They will take care of all you diving needs. I'll also be down at the end of September looking for a fisherman to share a boat with Capt. Parnell Coc. I'll be staying at Seaside.
I was there in Sept. once & the ocean was very calm not much breeze, which made it pretty warm, loved it!! water temp. was about 84 , everything was great till a Hurricane came close by, then no diving for a few days, long as the Hurricanes stay away you will have great weather. Definitely the SLOW season LOT'S of good deals!
