I am looking for a something like a half day trip to go snorkeling where they take you out on a boat and you have lunch and everything. Does anyone know anything about that?? Also, can anyone add any comments on the Blue Hole??

Hey There

I wrote about our blue hole trip on this message board under the thread:
"Trips to Atolls: one diver, one non-diver" .

Do you want to know about diving the Blue Hole? Or snorkeling it?

I've been in the Hole 3 times and I can't get enough. The last trip over Xmas was even more awesome. I know that not everyone feels the way I do but I think it is a fabulous dive. It is certainly not the same type of dive as you find just off San Pedro or the other Atoll dives. It has its very own character.

This trip I noticed some small chambers in the walls and really would have loved to have spent some more time with my head poked in there but that would have held up the group. [Linked Image]

The two spectacular followup dives and lunch on the island make for an amazing way to spend a day.

Having said all of this, I should qualify it by saying that every time I've been out to the Hole the weather was very good.

I have been out for the Atoll dives a time or two when the weather was not great. I still found the Atoll dives to be superb and can only imagine how much I would have relished them had the weather been fine.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

I am looking to snorkel the Blue Hole or something around the area. I have been to Cozumel and done some snorkeling there and it was so great. What are some of the things that you have seen while diving in Belize. I mean animal wise?? I am just facinated by that type of stuff!!!

i must say however, that when we snorkeled the blue hole we had about the best snorkle i ever had. have em throw you out before the divers go down, then you get a long time.
