by Delta Airlines and United Airlines

New non-stop flights are being added from Los Angeles and Newark to Belize City, making vacationing in Belize even more accessible to travelers departing from Los Angeles or Newark this winter or connecting through these major air hubs.

Delta Airlines and United Airlines are offering new non-stop services to Belize City, making Belize even more accessible for travelers departing from Los Angeles and Newark this winter.

Taking advantage of the West Coast market to Belize, Delta Airlines will be offering convenient non-stop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Belize City (BZE) on Saturdays starting December 21st, 2013. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft flying this route will have 160 seats available. Delta is the only airline offering the convenience of non-stop service between Los Angeles and Belize City. Flights depart at approximately 12am, and land in Belize City at 7am. The new route complements Delta's existing services between Belize City and Atlanta, demonstrating the airline's commitment to the Central American region.

To meet the growing need for non-stop flights from Newark to Belize, United Airlines will be adding three more non-stop flights between Newark, NY (EWR) and Belize City, (BZE) resulting in an additional 354 seats per week for the December to January holiday season. Service will be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flights depart at 1pm and land at approximately 7pm.

Delta's new Los Angeles to Belize City service is available for booking through http://www.delta.com. United Airlines Newark to Belize City service is available on http://www.unitedairlines.com.

Great to have weekly service from LA, but doesn't anyone remember when Delta had daily service from Atlanta to BZE and US Air had daily service from Charlotte to BZE? Now most of the time both of these flights are weekly. Let's see seven minus six is ... ?

Or does anyone remember when TACA, the oldest airline serving Belize and Central America (which recently became a part of Avianca), was based in New Orleans, at one time the main gateway to Central America, and had daily flights to Belize?

There has been increase in airlift to Belize since the 1990s, but it has been minimal compared with that to, say, Cancun, San Jose, Guatemala City or Panama City.

Yes, and as numbers flag, the post mortem will be the duality of overnight and cruise ship tourism were inconsistent with each other.

I used to love that Taca from New Orleans flight! I am all for the increased service, and especially non stops. Hope it lasts! Maybe with increased service, prices will come down so people can actually afford to fly on them. Saw a sale this week for Belize flights from $625 & up. Crazy that those are the sale fares...

Hold on, Non Stop?? Something is wrong, even with the one hour time difference a non stop flight from LA to Belize, 6 or 7 hours. No way. 3 1/2 hrs tops. Are they stopping in mid air????

In December, it is a 2 hour time differnce between LAX and BZE, not one. And, with established published flight times for LAX -CUN being 4 3/4 hours, this 12-7 time schedule seems quite appropriate.
