I will be traveling to Belize in March but need to decide between Corozal and Ambergris Caye. Looking at potential retirement communities. I'm an avid scuba diver so access to that is important. Looking for affordable real estate options. Also wondering what is the best/easiest way to get to either? Any feedback and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Visit both areas. Research property prices. There is a water taxi between both areas. Corozal is on a big bay, so I think SCUBA options are much more available from AC. Have fun and good luck.

Where are you starting from?

If you fly to Belize City, you can get to AC on a domestic flight (maybe 15 minutes, Tropic Air or Maya Island Air), or by water taxi (an hour or so, but a lot cheaper). You can get to Corozal by domestic flight, or by road (rental car, bus, taxi, transfer service).

If you fly to Cancun (might be cheaper), you can get a flight to Belize City (Tropic Air), or an ADO express bus to Chetumal (Mexico) where you can continue to AC by water taxi (daily service), or continue to Corozal by road (bus, taxi, transfer service).

You've asked for best & easiest, so I say that would be any option that includes flying or transfer service (where possible).

Lots cheaper to live in Corozal than Ambergris Caye. Closer to Chetmual where all the box stores are.

No diving from Corozal
For diving you need to be on Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker.
It depends on how much 'entertainment' you need how much it will cost anyplace.
You really need to come look us over. Fly into Cancun. Then take ADO bus to Chetumall. From there water taxi to Ambergris Caye.

WARNING: Once you've been here nothing else will look so good. LOL
