My son is looking for a tour for photographing birds and wildlife on the island or mainland. Does anyone do a tour like this? If not, could someone suggest some areas on the island where he might have the best luck photographing a variety of birds?
I see most birds at the far South of the island from the road or one of several side roads off it towards the back. I'm guessing going North is similar and perhaps across to Grand Belize Estates. Golf Cart or better still a bike would be required.
Caye trips - Aces Crocodile Tour and Bacalar Chico island circumnavigation trip including Snorkel stops.
Thanks for the suggestions! I booked a birding tour with Elbert a few years ago and my son will probably walk down and talk to him. Crooked Tree sounds like an excellent suggestion on the mainland. He will probably be spotted all over the island taking pictures in the next few days!
We went to Crooked Tree for a few days in April 2012 and can vouch for it for excellent birding. We wrote several blog posts on it if you care to check them out:
