Near Belmopan last night:

Lot's of rumbling thunder but not much rain here.... thunder is really unusual for this time of year. Eve said the winds had taken out some trees and humbugged the power lines along the Western Highway.

About 6 15 pm, I was in one of my favorite watering holes along the shore in Buttonwood bay when a serious line squall, with thunder and lightning crashed along the shore.

lasted just under an hour and remainer Northerly wind is now down to +/- 18 kt, with waves breaking all along the shore..

Called the met office and they had 15 kt at the airport, no measuring elsewhere.

We lost power twice. Looked like it was going to be a good storm, but didn't happen. Just a little rain.

From Belmopan... 11:15 BZT

My Internet access been out since 4pm yesterday, just come back.

The Belize Radar also very confused. . .. Shows early morning from 03:30 - 4:00am ...

That showing massive area of rain over the sea, just off PG in the south, moving from the WNW. ...So that might be associated with last nights rain.

The Lightning storm started in Belmopan around 4 - 5 pm, but very little rain. . ...

Then I recorded, night time 10 - 12 pm, more rain, totalling about 8mm ( 1/3" ) total.

Then after the cold front moved over Belize, the Rain direction changed and is moving from the NNE . .. .Yet most of the cloud is moving the opposite direction, that is from the SSW. . . .. .Despite, that supposedly being a cold front, I recorded the Warmest minimum Night so far, of the year.

So this is a weird cold front.

As you can see, there is cloud behind that cold front. . . . .So we could get more Rain today, perhaps not a lot though.

Yes we do get rain in the Dry season.
