Numerous complaints have been received by the BELIZE TIMES about the sudden removal of seats from inside the Phillip S. W. Goldson International Airport public waiting area.

There has been no explanation for the decision, but it has terribly inconvenienced passengers and visitors to the airport. In particular, senior citizens who must now sit outside the terminal or make their way upstairs to the waving gallery for a seat to rest their feet.

The decision has been described as insensitive and irrational by many.

Amazing that all this seating can just "disappear"?
Obviously someone "connected" needed it, nothing is thrown away in Belize.
Even more disturbing is that in Belize, supposedly 29th in the world in "Freedom of Press" according to Wiki, no one follows up on this story.
The UK is 33rd while the US is 46th?
Remarkable that no journalist in this "free speech" nation would pursue this.

One day when I arrived at work and walked through the hospital lobby I saw that everyone was standing and there were NO chairs. I entered the clerical area and asked my staff what was wrong in the lobby. They all looked through their protective glass barriers and shrugged their shoulders. They didn't see anything wrong.
It took a number of phone calls to learn that the upholstery company had come in before the day shift arrived and took them all to be recovered.
IDIOTS - they were to take one set at a time.
Maybe this is what happened at the airport???
