Going to be staying a week in July and I was just wondering if there was a market to buy a light bill of groceries, some fruit and vegetables ? It's been years since I was on the island and I dont remember seeing anything like that.

There are a couple of larger stores (not large compared to wherever you're from probably) and your best bet for fruits and vegetables is the stands. There are a few fruit and veggie stands. Probably the largest are Front St across from the Basketball Court and on Middle Street kitty-corner from the Bank.

another good one is near the Yacht Club, across from Changes-in-Latitudes. I think the one just past Banana Beach is still there too.

Maria's fruit stand across from the Yacht Club has a large variety of fruits and veggies. She also makes wonderful salsa, guacamole and fresh pineapple/coconut juice.

Sorry to get your taste buds going Royboy. I, too, missed that the question was for CC. Enjoy your holiday in July!

We stayed in CC last year and shopped at a few little grocery stores and were able to put some meals together. At one of the Chinese markets we even bought some lamb! Don't forget the bakery!!

We shopped at the little stores in CC and managed to put together excellent French meals for 32 years.
The fish is actually fresh, which means it was swimming an hour ago. In the US the expression "fresh fish " means " fish that doesn't stink yet"
