Conditions will become highly favourable later this week for the development of a Tropical Wave as it approaches the Eastern Caribbean.

The Miami-based National Hurricane Center says that the Tropical Wave, which is located several hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, is currently producing disorganized cloudiness and thunderstorms.

But the NHC says that environmental conditions will become favourable for gradual development.

Forecast models increase the possibility for development to 30 percent in the next couple of days, but by the weekend, the chances of development goes up to 70 percent.

The Tropical Wave is moving westward at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
