All too often, we read about travelers wanting information about room rates at Ambergris Caye. The rate for each hotel has so many variables--length of stay (for example--one day or two months) location of the room you desire--beach front where you awaken every morning to see the beautiful ocean or the rooms at the rear where you have a view of the sanitainer and sand road. Pool side or other? Each hotel will work hard to give you and themselves the best deal available--they all want the business. We researched many hotels--for us, Banana Beach came up #1.

I'm with SJ ~ I don't think it is advertising at all. I think this mb is great because everyone shares their opinions. It was those opinions (some I took...some I left) that helped me to have an awesome trip to AC last month.

The casitas were pretty darn close to the water. We stayed in the Rainforest Suite, which was only 50 ft from the water ~ the casitas weren't too much farther than that. The grounds at the VH are absolutely gorgeous.
In my opinion, it was just the right distance from town...about 2 miles, I believe. It was far enough to feel 'secluded', but close enough to venture into town whenever we felt like it. We had a golf cart for the week (we got it from VH) and we went into town almost everyday. It was perfect.
