Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize
September 815, 2014
Summary: A deep and moist easterly airflow will prevail over the NW Caribbean during this working week. This is typical of September climatology, after the below normal rainfall conditions that prevailed across the country during the first half of the 2014 rainy season (June through August, 2014), which impacted the main corn crop that was planted later than normal. Model forecast (NOAA-GFS) is resolving an active tropical wave moving over Belize during Wednesday (see NHC 72-hr forecast map). This feature will be coupled with an upper level, diffluent ridge circulation, favorable for further widespread outbreaks of thunderstorms, especially inland over the Orange Walk, Cayo and Toledo districts.

From Belmopan... 08:00 BZT

I was going to say last night that there was air moving rapidly down from the US.. .. Although that was wet air, as it gets south, it would be drying up . ....Well, it looks as if that has actual got here.. .. .Because there is now no rain on the Radar, what little there was much earlier, appeared to be moving down from the north.

Looks like we will have a dry day, with a fair bit of sunshine, and hopefully cooler, dryer air.

High temperatures tonight will be around 88 degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas; 93 degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable 78 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

Low temperatures tonight will range from 78 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.

The tides: there will be a high tide at 6:54 pm. This will be followed by a low tide at 11:14 pm. The sun will set at 5:53 pm. It will rise again at 5:41 am on Thursday.

Weekly Weather Outlook for Belize
September 15-22, 2014
Summary: Weekend showers dying off by early Tuesday giving way to little rainfall thereafter, until early Sunday through Monday and Tuesday next, when showers will increase over all regions of the country. Upper diffluence over the SW Caribbean is generating moderate to deep convection in that region of the western Caribbean. Elsewhere in the western Caribbean and Belize, subsiding air continues to suppress scattered shower activity. The surface analysis for 6:00 am Wednesday, Sep 17, 2014 (Figure 1) shows a weak pressure gradient over northern Central America and the NW Caribbean. Meanwhile, a tropical wave is approaching the Lesser Antilles. Another westward tracking tropical wave is located in the central, tropical Atlantic, while a disturbance will evolve from an active monsoon trof over West Africa.
