I am moving to San Pedro in 2 years & Currently own real estate here. I will be spending several months a year here & I need a Good Cigar connection. I smoke between 2 & 3 60ring cigars a day so I really MUST keep costs down. Anyone with info will be appreciated. Nick

2 months from now things could be completely different - 2 years.... who the hell knows knows?

You own property on SP and you have no idea about where to buy cigars? Spent any time on the island?

OK KLCMAN....... I'll spell this out for you as the word "CONNECTION" was meaningless to you..... I've been to ALL of the Cigar stores on the Island & they're obviously to expensive/ stick..... I spend almost $7,000 USD in the States/ year on cigars & the price/ stick in the Island Stores are 3 to 4 times more than what I pay here...... Hence I'm looking for a cigar "Connection".... I will Definitely try and avoid your kind in the future. Thanks for the Welcoming to the Forum!!!!!!

Your knee jerk reaction probably will not go over very good in such a laid back climate. You my want to consider another place to lay down your roots.
If cigars are your criteria for where you want to live than I think you have a problem.........maybe Cuba would be more suitable?

Lighten up everybody, it was a legitimate question for which I have no answer.

Havana Cigars on Front Street has the widest selection of cigars from different "appellations". Across the street from Holiday Hotel/Caprice. I believe there are some Trip Ad reviews on Carlos' place. I like Havana because he is the only Authorized Dealership for Patron in Central America (the 64 and 26 Anniversario's and the odd 80 year). When he has them I really like the H.Uppmann Mag 50's.

Edit: Nick, having gone back and closely read your original post (and avoided the minefield in between) I'd simply add that if you've tried Havana and also discount it as too expensive there really isn't much more I (and probably anyone else) can offer. Tabacco is taxed heavily and duty damned in Bleize and therefore priced accordingly. Now having said that I would add that I get my Patrons at Havana for less than I do here in the Bay Area.

Your appreciation of cigars and your annual budget would lead me to suggest that you consider periodically bringing in your own boxes and age them in your own humidor. This suggestion made under the assumption that like a lot of people they travel back to the States now and them.

A "connection" as you put it is likely to offer only those products that are commonly available (bleh). I'd also recommend you go in and chat frequently with Carlos and perhaps build some local rapport. Best wishes

Thanks to both Champion & Bear....All I did was ask a simple question....So I thought...... Now I should Re-Think where I should retire. I will heed your advice Bear, as it is actually helpful. I would think that is what this forum was for in the first place......

Been here many times before we bought property & I don't believe that Simon. Just in case that's true though, I will be living on my Brand New Lagoon 400 S2 Forty foot Catamaran, staring at the barrier reef EVERY DAY avoiding the Chisme.....
