The Embassies of Mexico and Venezuela invite you to the opera and piano concert:
“Voices from Mexico and Venezuela”
Saturday, 18 October 2014, 7:00 pm, Bliss Centre, Belize City
Sunday, 19 October 2014, 7:00 pm, George Price Centre, Belmopan.
ENTRANCE IS FREE.
The concerts include arias and songs, and bring together three of the most interesting and promising voices of Latin American music scene: the Venezuelan mezzosoprano, Maria Eugenia Guerrero; Mexican soprano Carolina Carrillo; and Mexican tenor Christian Ibarra; accompanied by the outstanding Mexican pianist Carlos Camacho.
The first part of the program includes arias and duets from Mozart, Puccini and other great composers. The second part will include songs from Latin American artists such as Tata Nacho, Maria Grever and Manuel de Falla.
The Embassies of Mexico and Venezuela come together to bring talented artists from their respective countries to the Belizean public.

When you hear the word "Opera" for most, images of women in flamboyant dresses and top hats and men in overalls with white wigs are evoked. Well our next story is about a visiting Mexican Opera where the performers wont necessarily be draped in elaborate or outlandish costumes, but they will be bringing the drama and passion that defines this form of art to the Bliss stage.
