Who said it couldn't be done? Here's a picture of the first food I planted and ate. One lone but very delicious cantaloupe. I had lots of blooms on all the vines but they dropped off in the cold weather.
I saved the seed from this one and will plant them ready for my next cr

[Linked Image] (a teaser)

My avocado tree, planted 6 or 7 years, ago died in its youth. The neighbor planted one at the same time which has grown into a decent sized tree but never bloomed (do they?) nor produced fruit. I have a new one started from seed that is about 12" tall and ready to transplant. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Here is todays farm picture which I hope makes your mouth water; Basil. I have already harvested two meals by using the lower leaves; humus and pesto. I pinched out the tops a couple of weeks ago to get them to bush out and they are obeying me. I think I will give you a daily tease. smiles

I planted this parsley seed many months ago and have given away bunches to friends. It is more pungent than any I have ever purchased. If you stop by you can have some.

Avocados take about 15 years (from seed) to reach maturity and produce a good crop.

Island Oregano - I made pasta sauce from scratch with this last night. (Oregano not the fungus)
