Would love to hear from anyone that stayed at Victoria House recently and used their "free" shuttle to town in the evenings. Does it still leave at 6:30pm? Is it still free? Is there a return to VH shuttle later that night? What time approx. does it go back?

We are trying to weigh the option of getting a golf cart or just using their service to get to town (or taxis)!

Any thoughts, comments, etc. appreciated!

Dr. Glen--Please no comments on the safety or health issues of the shuttle! I was burnt out on them in my last Diet Coke post! [Linked Image]

Touched base with VH today.

There are a number of shuttles (free)into town each day. Also, they have free bikes to use.

You can email them via their web site (www.victoria-house.com).

Thanks! That is great about more than one free shuttle! No need to spend extra $$ on golf carts, huh?

teach, i would suggest you get one for a day or two anyway. one of the funnest parts of our first trip was a cart around the island with new friends. we just drove until the roads ended. i will not say how sober we were. they were a bad influence.

Teacher: I concur. Do plan to get a cart for a day or two. AC is too big to completely explore on foot or by bike in a reasonable amount of time. Our very best day there was "cart day" when we went way far south and way far north and I know we never would have been that far otherwise. We ended up the day "cruisin' the ones", gathering up souvenirs that might have been hard to cart around in bike baskets and buying bulky groceries. Besides, the cart was just great fun!

Great advice!

Yes, we do plan to rent a cart at least a couple of days...I'm anxious to see all these places I've been reading about for months now. Only two more weeks!

Ahhh.. you are too sweet! We leave on the 31st--staying for 7 nights at VH...I'll be the teacher that just got done teaching middle school --(really needing a drink and RR)--my husband is an overworked attorney! See you then!
