From Belmopan...
Perhaps you noticed that high cloud streaming over Belize from the west, which had some thick patches, mainly over the mountains. That is still streaming over Belize this morning, no sign of any Caribbean winds. The fog is so thick this morning that I can't see the sun through it, so I can't see just how much of the fog is actually smoke, I suspect a lot, the smoke could be seen over the sea yesterday evening, carried out by the westerly air. That cold front is not going to bring us cold air, but it is having some effect on the hot west high air and helping to divert the Caribbean air up northwards away from Belize. Last night was a hot night, at 26°C 79°F, partly due the smoke.
Today will probably be another hot day, once the fog has cleared, hopefully not as hot as the 38°C 100°F we got yesterday.
Temperatures in Belmopan:
Today is probably going to be fairly similar as yesterday hopefully a little cooler :
Mon, max 38°C 100°F Last night min 26°C 79°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
