I asked once before without much success, thought I'd try again in a different area...
Does anyone know about the situation for general aviation in Belize? Is there any? Does anyone keep a small plane there? Is there any market for a float plane service? Seems like a much better way to get out to the Blue Hole than the long slog in a dive boat.
Am serious about moving to Belize after several trips but hate to give up my one old guy hobby with so much great country to see from the air.
There was a lot or two adjacent to the runway at Ambergris Caye but I couldn't find anyone that knew about the possibility of building a hangar off the runway.
Thanks for any helpful input!!

there are quite a few pvt acft in Belize. A lot on the rwy at SPR might be hard to find with enough area to build a hanger. To operate for hire, you will need to contact the BDCA: www.civilaviation.gov.bz, their web site has most information you'd be looking for. Also depends on your age, no single pilot commercial flying after age 60.
There have been attempts at float operations, logistics and maintenance for salt water operations is way difficult and expensive here.

Thank you! Sorry to hear of that age restriction....
There was a lot half way down the runway. I'll check with the officials and see what their thoughts are.
Thanks again.
