From Belmopan...

The weather has definitely changed. Yesterday we started to get mid level winds from the north, above the Caribbean easterlies. This morning, the north winds are predominating and bringing cloud down. The Caribbean winds are bending round near Cuba and are also NNE over Belize. It is as if there was a Cold Front coming down from the States, deflecting the Caribbean winds downwards, the resultant cloud caused some rain over night and a lot of cloud this morning. The high level westerly winds are still coming over in waves, causing small areas of ITCZ swell up. These swell ups appear to be almost circling clockwise, that is occurring eastwards towards Jamaica, going more towards the SE further south and by Nicaragua Pacific coast, moving out SW wards. There appears to be many different things at play at present.

Looks as if Belize may have isolated rain showers today but probably less than yesterday, there could even be some sun.

Temperatures in Belmopan :
Today is probably going to be a little Warmer, than yesterday : Mon, max 30°C 86°F Last night min 24°C 75°F ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )

From the winds web:
http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=-92.53,21.40,1054

So yes there is a sort of Cold Front coming down from the States and yes the Caribbean winds are turning round near Cuba.

These images are from the low level clouds height.

Hi,
I am returning to AC in late july for diving and fishing, I have never been there in July and know it is in hurricane season, can any locals give me an idea of what to expect?
Thanks

Hurricane season in Western Caribbean doesn't usually get into gear until late August. Plan on fun in July!
