I've made three trips across the bridge to visit businesses North of the bridge in my rented golf cart, and so far have paid the toll both ways for a total of $30 Bzd. Can anyone explain what this about, and is there a monthly pass? I'm coming to the end of my stay here, but curious, and an explanation may help future visitors. Thanks in advance.
Bob

I am a new owner and am North of the bridge. I will let the other members "chime in" BUT you're complaining about $15.00 U.S.... You are paying a "toll" for the cost of the bridge. Not too long ago there was some type of "raft" that took you across. Hey forum members; how much did that cost?
The ONLY complaint I have about the toll is that you no longer can buy a round trip or a "bunch" of trips. I used to purchase $20.00 U.S.at a time to avoid the hassle of paying each time.

Monthly passes are available at the Town Council building on Front Street.

Where did you hear me "complain" in my post? I asked a question.

I think the toll is far to high. But it is what is. $10 bz round trip, or a monthly pass for $150 bz.
The trucks pay anywhere from $25 to $150 !

Sorry Bob, you are correct; there was no complaint.

Other forum members; question. What was the "ferry method" before the bridge and how much did it cost? Just curious.

There was a pontoon contraption with a rope and chain and two men who pulled the thing across the river. Any more than two carts at a time was dangerous, but often the limits were pushed. People and bicycles also jammed on willy nilly. In a strong wind or current this was a hard vessel to control. Long ago it was sufficient for the scant traffic it served. It was not manned at night. Eventually it became a real safety hazard. Cost was $5 bz per cart each way.

We did the bridge last week, they would only let us pay one way at a time
