From Belmopan...
A lot of different activity this morning. The NE high from Cuba is very active over Belize today. It has been clashing with the Caribbean east winds. As a result, there have been three ITCZ flare-ups. One over southern Honduras that moved over Guatamala into the Pacific, off these pictures. A small one over southern Toledo, bringing rain there earlier and still some lingering rain. But the real interesting one is out in the Caribbean, this got large, causing a lot of rain in the sea. It collapsed, shooting our a couple of shock waves, one you can see inside the yellow dotted line, the earlier one has already gone over much of Belize and caused a line of rain from Corozal, Cayo, to PG. There are still isolated rain showers from that one now, but they are reducing. But when these high ITCZ collapse, they can trigger of other rain further away and even reform in the centre later. This one is causing a large area of rain over the sea, but is reducing. [ Blue arrows are Rain movements, White are the regular clouds you can easily see at about 2,000 ft, the Yellow arrows are higher cloud movements, Orange are the high level winds. ]
I expect today to be mainly sunny with white clouds, but there are a number of isolated rain areas, which should diminish during the morning, but always a chance of other heavier clouds and small areas of rain later.
