truly one of the most bizarre questions ever for a travel forum: "Does anyone have any sense or feel for how many of the American expats are right wing extremists like birthers or gun nuts?"

I'm guessing one for each left wing extremist. You need to define gun nut a little better. Is a person who keeps a five shot(loaded) revolver at home and one in his office ( private property) a "gun nut"? If so, a lot of Liberals are also right wing gun nuts.
50 years ago I liven in West Virginia in a rural house. My wife is from El Salvador and her father always had a gun in his pocket.. ( El Salvador.... major crime). I was a travelling salesman and left on Monday and returned Thursday night... Standing orders were to shoot anybody who came in BEFORE Thursday. Please don't lecture about gun safety; two stints in the Army, security guard etc.

A little known fact... Women who are overweight tend to live longer than men who mention it...

A reasonable question, based on some of the comments I've read on this board I would say there are too many.

It depends on what day it is, if the tide is high or low and the phase of the moon. OH yeah - and what you ate for dinner.
