Looking for a great way to add some excitement to your Tuesday night? Well, we highly recommend a good evening at the race track- the Hermit Crab Race track that is! The atmosphere is fun, energies are high and so are the stakes down at Crazy Canucks! Get in on the action and bet on your favorite crab for only $10Bz, and cheer on the little fella as he vies for a chance to win bar tabs and fun prizes from different sponsors!

The first crab to make it over obstacle rope wins, while the first crab to crawl on each sponsor marks wins a prize from that sponsor! Talk about fun, and to make it even better, it's all for charity!

There are several races for the night but crabs sell out pretty quickly, so we recommend you get there early, and buy a crab or two, or three!

Here is a fun Tuesday in San Pedro Belize were we pick a hermit crab, gamble, and watch them race. All in the name of charity of course. Of course when you give a crab a funny name, the announcer Rob spices it up a bit.

On Your MarkGet SetCrawl! Hermit Crab Races at Crazy Canuck's Beach Bar

Crazy Canuck's, located just south of town right on the beach, has found so many ways to differentiate themselves. They've got an awesome view, friendly staff and some popular events all week long. But the most unique (some might say weird) weekly party takes place on Tuesday evenings - when a crowd gathers to bet on the hermit crab races. They've been doing it for THREE YEARS! It was one of the most memorable things my nephews did on their visit last year.

I arrived a bit early - for some remaining daylight and to get a seat. There are tons of tables set up at the beach and by 6:30pm - crab time - they were almost all full. The race track is pretty clever and very photogenic. It's covered with branded obstacles. A bagel from Brooklyn Bagel Co, a little Eiffel Tower from the french bakeryall sorts of things.
