GALENT Artist Management is pleased to announce the signing of Garifuna Garifuna musician, singer-songwriter, percussionist and guitarist Clayton “C-Wills” Williams.

As exclusive manager, GALENT will look after the business side of Clayton’s career and will interface with all other parties involved in contributing to his commercial success. It will help further his career as a musician, composer, recording, and performing artist, and to develop new and different areas within which his artistic talents can be developed and exploited.

Clayton Leon Williams “C. Wills” hails from the village of Hopkins, Belize and follows in the footsteps of the legendary Paranderos of the Caribbean coast of Central America, including his great grandfather the legendary Gabaga Williams, author and composer of the classic Garifuna song Malati Isien (Worthless Love) perhaps the most well-known Garifuna composition and has been described as one of the greatest Garifuna composers of all time.

He began His music career at age 7 playing Garifuna drums at the Lebeha Drumming Center in Hopkins, Belize. At the age of 13, He was featured in the CD Lebeha Drumming – Traditional Garifuna Music Played by Youth from Hopkins Belize, which was a finalist for the 2006 Grammy Awards Traditional Music category. Clayton has lived most of his life in Hopkins teaching and promoting the Garifuna Culture to tourists and children. He has performed in Canada and in the United States.

In May 2015, Clayton released his first album “Garifuna Nuguya” (I am Garifuna), and is the leading nominee for the 2016 Garifuna Music Awards with eight (8) nominations in such key categories as New Artist, Song of the year, Album of the year and Contemporary Artist, in addition to, Urban Music, Traditional Music, Best Music Video and Producer of the Year.

Following on the footsteps the late Andy Palacio and shares his hopes for the future of Garifuna music and culture, by confronting the erosion of the Garifuna culture in the heart of modern day society by preserving the culture's unique language and extraordinary sound. He has become the new voice of Garifuna Music as the youngest Parandero. His goal is to preserve the Garifuna Culture while taking Garifuna music to the next level in his own way and style.
