The World’s First Tropical Mermaid Retreat Will Take Place in Belize in February 2016

Sirenalia, an Austin, Texas based mermaid production company, is throwing a tropical mermaid retreat in Caye Caulker, Belize on February 4-9 of 2016. The all-inclusive, five-day retreat will feature professional underwater photography at the Belize Barrier Reef; mermaid-themed yoga classes and several nighttime mermaid events. Participants will be given the chance to visit with the local elementary school. All profits from the event will be donated to the Ocean Academy, a local nonprofit dedicated to assuring education to the island’s children.

January 5th, 2015: (Austin, Texas) Sirenalia (www.sirenalia.com), an Austin, Texas-based mermaid production company, is throwing a tropical mermaid retreat in Caye Caulker, Belize in early February of 2016. The all-inclusive, five-day retreat will feature professional underwater photography at the Belize Barrier Reef; mermaid-themed yoga classes and several nighttime mermaid events. “Our company has been visiting Caye Caulker for several years now, and I’m so excited to open the trip up to everyone who wants to participate,” said Maria Russo, owner of Sirenalia. “I love the thought of swimming the Barrier Reef with other mermaids and mermaid performers!”

The retreat is all-inclusive, and will provide taxi & ferry fare to and from the island, a hotel room, travel to and from the reef, professional underwater photography courtesy Flashpool Productions, tickets to an outdoor mermaid double feature, and a gift bag. Sirenalia’s custom silicone mermaid tails will be available to swim in for people who do not have tails of their own Guests will be given the opportunity to make an appearance at the local elementary school, and all profits from the retreat will be dedicated to the Ocean Academy, a Caye Caulker-based nonprofit that encourages and helps local children complete their education with an emphasis on environmental conservation. “One of the most important missions of Sirenalia is to help both children and the environment in any way we can,” said Russo. “This retreat seems like the most fun possible way to do both!”
