Requirements for New Tour Guide Applicants

All new applicants are required to present:

1. Completed Application Form
2. Payment of $75.00 Application Fee
3. Official Police Record no older than 6 months [No receipts will be accepted]
4. Medical Certificate
5. Official CPR/First-Aid Certificate or Card [No receipts will be accepted]
6. Two (2) Passport Sized Photographs certified by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public
7. Recommendation letter from a local recognized Tour Guide Association
8. Copy of Course Certificate/Grade Report
9. Proof of Citizenship

Requirements for Renewing Applicants

All renewing applicants are required to present:

1. Completed Application Form
2. Payment of $75.00 Application Fee
3. Medical Certificate
4. Official CPR/First-Aid Certificate or Card [No receipts will be accepted]
5. One (1) Passport Sized Photograph certified by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public
6. Recommendation letter from a local recognized Tour Guide Association

Note: The licensing process can take up to two (2) weeks. To avoid being unlicensed for any period of time please come in to our offices at least two weeks prior to the expiration date. Any Guide who fails to complete the entire renewal process before July 31st, 2016 and continues to operate will be seen as operating illegally.

As per the Belize Tourism Board (Tour Guide) Regulations, it is an offence to operate without a valid license and a person found guilty of said offence is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one (1) year, or to both such fine and term of imprisonment.

No incomplete applications will be accepted.
