The name of the account is:

and the number is 501 - 4670.

Never mind, I now saw the message on the fire, truely sorry for all the victims, and congradulate all the efforts to contain the fire, and grateful no lives lost.

It would be most helpful to post the details of the bank account. Who is administering it? Who will be responsible for making sure that the funds in the account will be given first to the neediest, uninsured victims, etc., that all funds will be accounted for, that nobody from government gets their hands on it, etc. That kind of info might encourage more donations.
I will still route my donation through someone I know well who is in San Pedro. But for people who don't have close contacts that they feel comfortable giving cash to, info on the bona fides of the bank account would be very helpful.
For people who are considering sending "stuff," The one thing that everybody who is the victim of a disaster can best use is cash, rather than "stuff," which often turns out to be useless, difficult and expensive to transport and more trouble than it is worth, best intentions notwithstanding....
