Talk on the cruise forums has turned to how many itineraries no longer include Belize as a Western Caribbean stop. This happened before due to tenders asking for too much $$$. Any idea why it is happening now? I have been to Belize 26 times for land based vacations but this has my curiosity peaked. Anyone know anything about it?

since cruisers arent the most among us crap articles like this just steer the mentally unable off places like Belize.

Hi. It's also a season problem. Price is high when weather is hot or whent it'ss the holidays. Nowadays it's hard to find cheap things.

wow katzgar, that is a "crap" article. I always found that normal "be safe" precautions are all that are required. I remember some cruise excursions involving Caye Caulker snorkling, Lamanaii, Zip lining and Cave Tubing. Many members of Cruise Critic were actually lamenting the lack of cruises including Belize as a destination and having been a member of THIS board for a long time, I thought I'd ask. I will be trying a cruise for the first time this March because my husband loves being on the ocean and I have never tried. Next March, we may be back in Belize on Ambergris Caye if ships are not my thing. It may be a "tender" issue because of cost again but Belize is a port requiring them due to the reef. Hmmmm.....

Agavegirl....I'm wishing you a fantastic Cruise Vacation....We have been fortunate enough to cruise on many Lines and travel to beautiful Countries throughout the world....However, on a cruise ship is my favorite....Incredible luxury, around the clock food, entertainment from Karaoke to science lectures, on board gift shops, the casino, poolside lounging and so much more....all while traveling from one exotic place to the next. Hoping you enjoy it as much as I do.....

The "tender" issue was the cruise ships trying to put the tenders out of business and bring in their own boats.
The industry has some really bad actors in it.

there are some posting some stupid stuff about safety in Belize which doesnt help. Would help if some of you got on cruise critic to help with the paranoia.

Doesn't anyone feel less cruise people is better? Write articles about Cruse Ship visitors getting eaten by Manatee.
Hea I've heard Manatee eat more Cruise Ship visitors in Belize than any other country in the Caribbean. Belizean Tourguides have deliberately led Snorkeling Cruise Ship passengers into schools of man eating Manatee.
