Can anybody tell us what time the last flight leaves BZE for Ambergris? We may be arriving in BZE at around 5:00 PM...will this give us enough time to make the last flight? Are there alternative means of transport to AC? (I have heard of ferry service from Belize City - can anybody point us in the right direction for times etc.?)

The flights from BZ International via Tropic Air are loosely "scheduled". If you are arriving on one of the major carriers they will accomodate the passengers that need to get to AC or Caye Caulker. There is officially to be no air traffic after dark in BZ, but they obtain the permission to do so if the incoming commercial flights are late. Contrary to conventional wisdom, there ARE landing lights on the San Pedro airstrip. Not many, but they're there. With the Coconut Drive "road" project currently underway the larger concern might be the golf carts, taxis and bicycles that are crossing the runway (under the control of the local authorities, of course). Hang on.
