We just bring US$ and exchange as we spend. It's 2 Belize per US$. Everything's half price! So you can drink and eat twice as much!

We never change our money, when you spend $US they will give you $Belizean change.
We don't cash our traveler's check at the banks because they will charge you and give you less than 2:1. Cash your checks at the restaurant / hotel / gift shop then you get 2:1 & no extra fees!
Belize it!

Take your traveler's checks to Milo's (north end of Front Street) and you'll get more than two for one.

Milo's is the place. Great people! Milo always kept us up-to-date on the weather and answered ? we had. Better than 2:1 rate. Don't forget his mom's little store next door for anything needed.

Milo's is a store & they used to rent rooms also, don't know if they still do that.
It is located at the north end of Barrier Reef Drive, across the street from the cemetery.
