I know there is a place on AC where you can use the internet if you need to send an e-mail. What is the name of the place? How does this work? Do you pay by the number of e-mails you send? Also, are you able to receive a reply - like if you come back the next day or two?

Laurie, I think there's at least 2 or 3 places to send email. I forget the names but the one that comes to mind for you is the one right next to the El Patio restaurant as you head into town from the south. Then I thought there were two others not far from eachother on I think middle street? Somebody please correct me.
As for fees, I think I paid BZ5 us for 15 minutes use.

"Coconet" is in town on Front street......good if you're in town or North. "Island Internet" is 1/2 mile south of the town center, fine if you are south of town.

Both charge for time, not emails sent. Island Internet is $2.50US for 15 minutes, Coconet is about the same. If you don't already have one, get yourself a Yahoo! or Hotmail account so that you can communicate easily while travelling.

Just about everybody is online there. I'll bet the place you stay will let you send email for a small fee! I used the phones freely to make collect calls at a couple places.......Richard

....I forgot to mention...both Coconet and Island Internet have cozy bars serving alcholic and non-alcoholic cold beverages as well as fresh coffee and donuts daily.

Both met the needs but the one south of town was by far the friendliest. Very customer focused (free coffee and have drinks in the cooler). I forgot my dive cards at home and had the dog sitter scan them and send them to me there. The best $5 I spent.

I have to say that the guy in town two years ago, was arrogant and his sales pitch was "We're only shop in town". So they were. I hope they are too more customer-focused now that there is another place in town. AC can withstand two good competitors I believe.

Also, many places will allow you to send short e-mail from their offices and even receive. Ask.

Hopefully on your vacation you will not think too much about it.

Thanks for the info! And you are right, Scuba Bob: the purpose of being on vacation is to get away from faxes, cell phones, e-mails! My office is not being given my location for 10 days. 21 DAYS AND COUNTING!
