Just spoke with my sis, she is at the Embassy hotel in Belize City. SHe was flown by Tropic Air this morning, she was staying at the PALMS. All the tourists were able to leave (if they wanted). The owners of the Palms, Kelly and Derrick, are OK. My sis said they were great.
They were able to get food from the markets, and the water company (?) has been giving freash water to everyone, free flowing.
She is glad to leave and looking forwad to getting home in a few days. She said it was very frightening. She said the lagoon side sustained a lot of damage with many homes gone, and there were some loss of lives of locals on the lagoon side.
