I have a shipping/tax question. Apparently, if you mail or ship anything from stateside to a Belizian citizen, they have to pay a very heavy tax...I can't remember the name of it...excise tax maybe? Anyway, if I'm mailing books or educational CD's, can I label the package "educational materials", thereby helping the recipient avoid the tax?

the tax isn't that hideous though in those sorts of items. i find them usually fairly reasonable....

Its the CDs that they will get taxed on. Take them out of the case and shove them inside the books and DON'T put the word CD on the customs sheet or on the outside of the box, just write "Books and Educational Materials". Customs agents rarely open mail that comes in thru the regular postal service, and if they do, its just a cursory look.
