We are arriving on Saturday, and first dives are on Sunday. How calm is the water? When does it usually rain, morning or aft? What is the visibility?

right now ... extreemly rough ... no diving
This has no relationship to what it may be like on sunday. Can change overnight.

DesertDiver, you are going anyway and what will be will be. Hope for the best. Leave your cares and woes at the homeside airport. (pick 'em back up on your return home, if ya have to) And make sure you leave behind any impatience in your nature. Go with the flow.

My normal personality was to know exactly what I'm getting into and having everything planned to turn out how I want it too with a little bit of "finger snapping" type expectations. But having now been to Belize 4 times, I'm a changed person. This change has been extremely beneficial to me on those return trips as well as trips I have made to other destinations.

What's that they say? Just Belize it!

Unfortunately, this is a dive trip. I spoke with the woman at the dock at Hustler tours, and I have the complete picture. Even if the seas cleared up ( not expected for a few days ), the silt would make diving very poor. So, who wants to be holed up in a thatch cottage in high winds and rain, while paying the pretty penny.

I feel your pain DesertDiver. Does this mean you are going to cancel?

If you are going anyway, either take along a rain slicker or buy one at the hardware store (I think I paid around $22 US last Xmas, gave it away when I left). That way you aren't stuck in your room. There are still things to do in the rain . . ., of course, most of it is drinking related . . .
