i have been working with the guys at www.cleanmymailbox.com and they are up to about 80% removal of the spam i get.
there are 5 levels of detection, i had them manually set a 6th level, and we're fixing to try a 7th.

then i get the rest of the spam with mailwasher. then i actually go get the email. REALLY SAVES DOWNLOADING TIME, especially with all those 150k virus attachments these days... pick em off before you download them.

service runs $12us a month. I am currently getting 500+ emails a day, of which 80+% is trash. it was killing me sifting it. have been using mailwasher (www.mailwasher.net) for a month or so and thats a definite improvement, but its nice to not have to even deal with the spam, just have it go away.

super customer service also at cleanmymailbox.com. they are always lurking at tech support if you need help or have questions. its removed 1200+ emails from my box in 3 days. hasn't pulled a good one yet either.

gotta love it.

Thanks! This is a good resource.

I have a user at the office who is 65 years old. Despite my efforts to configure Outlook in handling most of the things he signs up for, he still gets close to 100 spam messages a day. He doesn't hear/listen to my explanation as to why this happens. So now I'm forced to limit my incoming messages at the server level. Of course, none of this works too terribly well when you're connection is with Qwest.

However, your information will be useful at the house.
