Hi

I would like to hear more about the Victoria House. We are thinking of staying in a plantation suite in November. I find their web site a little confusing. They seem to have Plantation room and Plantation suites....I think. Did yours have a private balcony? Is it over the restaurant?

Thanks

There are two plantation suites, rooms #12 and #16. They are both in the main building on the second floor. We stayed in #16, which was directly on the right as you walked up the stairs. Everyone has access to the porch, so it was no big deal to pull up a chair, even though we were off to the side. Room #12 definitely has the better view. The sitting room actually faces the water and the pool and you feel like the front of the balcony is actually your own. As you look at the picture on the web, the restaurant is on the first floor, a plantation room is upstairs to the left and a plantation suite (#12) is upstairs on the right. Suite #16 is upstairs, on the right, towards the back of the main building. The other two white buildings on the web only have rooms. The casitas seemed somewhat small. The rainforest suite has a nice location facing the beach and about 50 feet from the main building. Any other questions?

That is great to hear - going to get married there in February. We are staying in a casita and the rainforest suite after we get married. Would you recommend a plantation room over a casita? We were thinking it would be more private.

Will you be sharing pictures?

Did you dine at VH frequently? How was the food?

Just to chip in my two cents.

I was there in June and stayed in a Casita. Thought the Casita was great for a first trip.

The rooms over the restaurant seemed nice. I would agree that #12 has the nicer view.

The food at VH was consistantly very good. We ate most of our lunches there. However, San Pedro has LOTS of great restaurants and you should plan on checking out elvi's, caliente and all the rest.

If you search the message board for victoria house, you'll find lots of postings. Have a great trip

I agree with the previous message. I think the casita will give you more privacy. They are situated in a nice location off the side of the main building. We ate at VH one night of dinner, it was great. We also ate alot of our breakfasts and lunches there. There are many restaurants that offer great food. We especially enjoyed the water taxi over to the Capricorn, which served a great meal.
Sorry, but there probably won't be any pictures, but will be more than happy to answer any additional questions.
