Maybe Jim is getting to the fact that La Isla Bonita is a reference to Ambergris Caye and it is now being used in this article for any island that Madonna sets foot on

A misconception on their part I think...LOL

There are a lot of pretty islands in the world...A/C is probably not top on the list.
Not that it doesn't have it's own charm and magic.

Somehow I don't think the use of the phrase will burn any Latin American bridges for Madonna.

I think this movie looks pretty good actually!

I saw the original movie, directed by Italian director Lina Wertmuller. I'm wondering why Madonna is re-doing it. There are many scenes where it's obvious that the woman has become a sex slave to the man, gets dragged around by the hair, she gets slapped around pretty good. It's a complex, extremely sexual movie, which deals with sexual politics, among other things. I'm not sure how this will read to a 2002 audience, you know what I mean?
