I am having a housefull of women renting the house in March, and they are interested in a "spa experience". I can't find a website for Maruba. I e-mailed mayan secrets, who I believe is Alexandra, but not sure, and I just got an automated response back to visit the mayan secrets webpage. Does anyone know of a website for Maruba where it would list services and cost?
I also have e-mailed Lyn, who does massages, and does have a website.
Does anyone know of anyone else who would come to the house and pamper a bunch of women for the day? (Zeke and Pirate, don't even touch that one...) ;-)
Just trying to gather information to make some happy guests.
TIA, Kathy

Kathy - here's the website for Maruba Spa: http://www.maruba-spa.com If you are staying in AC, you could head back to mainland and take a taxi to Maruba and be pampered silly for the day and then head back to AC. I stayed at Maruba last year and absolutely loved it.

Thank you so much, Gela. I tried maruba.com, but didn't think of other possibilities. I'm going there now. (It's not for me, but for my guests info -- wish it WAS me!)
Thanks again, Kathy

FYI, I think the best way to go to Maruba from AC for the day is to catch a ride with one of the tour boats going to Altun Ha or Lamanai. What they charge for a ride over and back is less than going to Belize City and taking a taxi and it takes less time.

Thanks, By. That's what I was thinking, also.

Hi Just a note - I went to the Spa at Chaa Creek and it was wonderful. Would really recommend it.

if they go to Maruba tell them to watch out for the baby howler monkey. cute at first, but eats your food and gets mean. and they don't refund or discount your meal...very disturbing.
One Barrel and Sprite.....It doesn't get any better than that!

Come on Son of a Son, you are at a "spa". You are supposed to loose weight. Now if that little animal gets after my viper rum, well that is different. I would go to the management and demand that monkey be put on the menu.

Son of a son, I have to question your response about wildlife daring enough to taste your food!! What a thrill to even experience wildlife like that in the wild in the jungle, and NOT have to pay a Zoo to see one and buy food to feed the monkeys!!! Were you not in the jungle???We had a wonderful jungle experience but were not as fortunate as you were to see monkeys in the wild while there at Maruba. What a thrill.

You are correct in the fact that I was in a jungle...but the ceviche WAS GOOD. Well I guess I don't like sharing. (probably why I don't have kids) Maybe should have had more than one shot of that viper rum!
