Can anyone tell me what artificial lures work best for fishing off of the docks? I have a 6'6" Spinning rod and a 7'6" casting rod. Last year I fished a little off of the docks with some local kids who were using nothing more than a spool of mono with a wieght and a hook. I never got the hang of it but the kids caught lots of snappers.

Thanks,

Ron

Sardines cut in thirds work best. Any small Mepps/Rooster Tail etc. also worked well as did small plugs with BIG eyes (they so love the eyes). Tight lines to you - - enjoy!!!!!

We were there in late August and used Sardine's and Shrimp. (ask around for the Fish Co-op place,
they sell shrimp sometimes.) We caught much fish at the "Cut" with them.

My friend also used silver spoons, but make sure you have a metal leader cause the cuda's will hit them. (lost two myself in about twenty minutes)

Pretty much anything can be used. Even the rubber stuff was working.

Also, Bring alot of hooks with you. They can be kinda expensive. Plus you might have to give a few away to the local children for bait fetching and such. laugh
