My wife, my 2 kids (10,12) and I are looking at traveling to AC next summer.
-Is AC a good place for a family trip or is it a big party town?
-Any ideas what we might pay in airfare from the Pacific NW that time of year?
-We're looking for a place with a kitchen within walking distance of downtown. We also want a pool to get out of the salt water. How's Banana Beach? Any suggestions?

GREAT place for a family, not the super party thing except late at night at fidos when category 7 is kicking butt..

and a few other places and times... but not college freshmen with ghetto blasters going everywhere or anything....

we fly often from eugene, oregon, its usually $650-$750 to fly from EUG to LAX, then LAX to DALLAS, then BZE international..

then the $80 for the flight to the island and back....

Banana Beach is wonderful....

Another great place is The Blue Tang Inn.

Within walking distance to town centre, swimming pool, great beach, full kitchen and supermarket is located right around the corner.

A restaurant is also on the dock just infront.

Round trip per person from the Belize Int'l to San Pedro is US$ 93 per person.

I also might suggest Carib Island Resort. HUGE POOL! Lots of walking, sand, water tramp, kayaks, bla bla. I think your fam would love it!
Closer to town... maybe the Palms.

I have a 14 year old boy and a 12 year old girl and we stay at Caribe Island Resort. Great kitchen, pool, & beach. It is fantastic and the kids will love it. If money permits stay a few days in the jungle. You won't regret it!
