According to the main board (ambergriscaye.com) there is supposed to be a self-guided nature trail somewhere on the island. Does anyone know anything about it? I want my girls to enjoy as much wildlife as they can in Belize.
Also, is Boca Del Rio a nice place to hang out with local kids? Kids count as 'wildlife', right? wink I know mine do laugh

Boca del Rio, is wonderful. The water is really shallow way out, you can see 5 to 6 inch star fish. My teenage grandchildren loved Boca del Rio, talking with and taking pictures of the local children, making sand tortillas on a bench. Delightful little children.

Boca del Rio is on the beach side by the cut/river where the hand ferry is located.

I would love to hear more on the Nature Trail too.

Thanks Chloe, I didn't realize it had a name. I was there. Took a picture of my feet in the clear blue water there. How far out should you have to go to see the starfish? Will be there THIS Tuesday. smile

Boca del Rio is a good park for the kids in the daytime. Other kid spots are central park (especially Sat night), the library (across from the elementary school - they have chess clubs, etc.), beach area by Tropica & Banyan Bay on weekend days, pool at Royal Palms, beach area by Mayan Princess and up in front of the cemetary, beach area by Tides Beach Hotel, swimming off the dock by Amigos del Mar, football games.....

Not sure how far out you should find the star fish. It seems we were 100 ft or more out, but is so shallow, knee deep to an adult.
