I guess I can definately agree with Lan on the tetnus shot, However the 10 year theory is old....Now they recommend at least 5 years. Good thing tho on San Pedro they have a great clinic across from Maya Air that you can get a tetnus shot if needed. On my trip over the holidays I went cave tubing and slipped in the mud and cut my leg on a piece of limestone. Of course God only knows what was in the River water there and it was deep enough that I "should" have gotton stitches but being the stubborn person I am I didn't get them but did finally agree with the Doc at the clinic (which I was tricked into going to)
that I should get an updated tetnus. So it's not a requirement for entry into Belize, rest assured that if you do need it, it's readily available in San Pedro. PS>>>>It was also a very reasonable cost...The Dr. cleaned the wound out very well, bandaged it, gave me a tetnus shot and 5 days of antibiotic and the total cost was only 31$ US.
