I am coming to Ambergis Caye in February. Could someone please tell me which resort is the nicest and most exclusive? We are also looking to buy a beach front lot. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Cayo Espanto for sure.

I agree -- Cayo Espanto, on a small private island on the back side of Ambergris, is the most exclusive, or at least the most expensive: Think US$12,000 or so a week, but that includes meals.

That resort is out of my price range. I was looking at the Victoria House, but they are booked on my dates. Feb 12-18. Any other ideas? Please help!

Ramons is a step below Victoria House, but I have stayed there a few times and think it is fabulous. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Also Mata Chica but it is way up north on island is a step above Ramon's.

Well we could knock this around a bit, but Belizian Shores is pretty darn nice. We've been there several times, and our son and lady friend just returned and loved it. Check out the pool and the new bar/restaurant, Senor Croc's.
