We have FINALLY, I hope smile , made a decision on a place to stay while in AC in May. I am hoping those of you in the area, or those of you that have knowledge, could tell me what the area around Agape House and the Tres Coco area is like? We are having some friends join us in AC, so have decided to rent a house.

Also, is it best that time of year to make arrangements for different tours and dives ahead of time, or do it when we arrive? Any suggestions on tours to take, dives/snorkles to do?

Are there other golf cart rentals other than the one listed here under "services"? I find it a little hard to pay for a weeks cart rental that costs close to the amount it will cost us a piece for lodging. The cart may be necessary for part of our stay at least as my husband will be having surgery on his leg next week and we may need one to get around in part of the time.

Thanks so much, you ALL have been so helpful on my other questions! I'm sure it will seem like May will never arrive in anticipation of our stay in AC.

May should be okay for booking outings after you arrive. People who have been great for us over the years:

Snorkeling: Alfonse Graniel, L'il Alfonse under "Goods & Services" menu above, phone: 614-5450; 226-3537; great guy & guide, wonderful with people & fish; ask him about other snorkeling sites after you visit Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley

Reef fishing: Ramon or Severo Guerrero, phone 226-2325, 226-2324; great fishermen and fun to spend a day with; they cook a great beach picnic with your catch and will send fillets back with you for future meals

Deep sea fishing: Pete Graniel, 2 time winner of the local annual billfish tournament; knowledgeable and very nice man; 226-2584

Sailing: Geraldo Badillo, 226-2264, fun and serene

The guides above will pick you up at your house in their boats.

Mainland tours: Seaduced & Tanisha; you might want to check with them first after you arrive to see which tours go on which days - they schedule by demand. Then you can work snorkeling & fishing days around tour days.

Tres Cocos is beautiful, but we've never stayed there. Someone on the board said Essene Way Resort, north of Tres Cocos, rents golf carts - they may fit into your cart schedule.

M2B-
My wife and I stayed at Agape last may. IT was terrific and 50 feet from the Palapa Bar. My only concern was that there is no beach. The swimming is done from the end of the pier. The sea grass was just under the water line and the sand is mucky. I thought the seclusion was great and when we werent on excursions and wanted to swim we drove our cart to one of the local resort beachs and hung out. They didnt seem to mind especially as we always had a drink in our hands.
