Thanks JoAnn

Is the current very strong in AC or does it just depend. I have been wanting to go to the FLower Gardens trip but do not think I am ready because I have been told the current is strong.

I also have a lot of trouble going down due to my ears clear so slowly. I just feel anxious and dont want my buddy to get frustrated with me because I have to take more time. If I just had a rope to get me down maybe 10 feet then I think I would be fine.

Hi Brenda,

I was only on AConce, in October. We did not encounter any strong currents on the dives I went on. We also dove at Turneffe (Spelling?) which was amazing.

There should be an anchor line that you will be able to go down slowly to clear your ears. Just don't let anyone rush you. You need to be comfortable in order to be able to enjoy the dive.

As others have said, Amigo Divers is good and will be able to help you out.

When I get stressed before going diving, I usually try to snorkel the day before a dive. You are getting your face in the water, breathing through the snorkle, getting used to breathing throught your mouth. I find that helps relax me before going out on a dive. Even if it is just off the beach, that might help you out.

JoAnn

Thanks so much JoAnn. All of your information has been so helpful

I did not know you could get in the water at the hotel. I was told there is so much boat traffic. But snorkeling when we arrive if it isnt too late would be good, but not quite sure we would have time.

You could also snorkel in the pool, if they have one. Anything to get wet and used to breathing through your mouth again.
