Ramon’s Village Resort is offering Instructor Training in Emergency First Response to Belizean Scuba Instructors and Divemasters.

Emergency First Response is an innovative and inclusive First Aid program with comprehensive instruction in Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) that meets the Medic First Aid requirement for Belizean tour guide license renewals. Emergency First Response has replaced the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Medic First Aid program.

A crossover course for current medic First Aid instructors will be offered Friday, April 4th at 2:00 pm and again on Sunday, April 6th at 2:00pm.

Tuition costs for the crossover is $175.00 USD. This includes: Instructor manual, video, and student binder with medical kit. Candidates must be renewed as a PADI member, be a PADI Medic First Aid instructor, or hold a current CPR/First Aid instructor rating with another qualifying organization to qualify for the crossover program.

The new Instructor program (for those currently not certified Medic First Aid instructors) will be offered Monday and Tuesday, April 7th and 8th, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. Cost of tuition is $225.00 USD and an instructor application fee to PADI of $45.00 USD. This includes instructor manual, video, and student binder with medical kit.

Candidates must meet renewed PADI member training qualifications, have successfully completed a CPR/Medic First Aid course, and bring a copy of their current card.

A deposit of $100.00 USD is required for enrollment and upon receipt of that deposit, candidates will receive a video that must be viewed prior to the course, or arrive 2 hours early.
